first herilooms

promise loves to be sung to lately!  she's never disliked it, but the past few weeks it has been very calming to her when she's upset (she's mostly upset because of the bones ripping through her gums!).  so, i sing to her the same lullabies that my mom sang to me... you are my sunshine, rock-a-bye baby, etc.  but there are a couple more unusual ones.

 so, i asked my mom where they came from and turns out - "red rocking chair" was one that her grandmother made up to sing to her kids and grandkids and "lolly dolly" was one that my mom made up to sing to me.  so these songs, handed down through generations, are promise's first heirlooms.

i have written one silly little song for promise but no lullabies yet. guess i should get to it so she has something new to pass on to her babies.
