grandpa!

my dad was here for 2 weeks on tdy (temporary duty).  it was a fluke (or gift from god) that there was a conference here at his base in illinois that someone from his office in afghanistan needed to come to.  awesome for us because we got to spend time with him while he was here, and even better because he finally got to meet promise!

he of course, loved promise! (seriously, who wouldn't?)  they didn't get to spend  a huge amount of time together because she goes to bed early, but we got in some early morning visits, a few lunches, and a little bit of time when he came home from work.


we took him to the airport  saturday night. it was sad to see him go. but we are all looking forward to his r&r in a couple more months.
