several of my cousins blog regularly about their kids (see "blogs i read"), and i love reading these posts. i love to hear about the ins and outs of life with kids - kids are funny. now that i am a mom i frequently catch myself writing blog posts in my head about the things my kid is doing. or the goofy mistakes jonathon and i make with her. and while she's not old enough to say funny things and make the whole world laugh... i want to remember these things. and besides, she's pretty much the cutest girl in the world, so why wouldn't everyone else want to read them, right?
i live in a mom world now. my life doesn't just revolve around her... it is her. granted there are wonderful things in my life besides promise - i have an incredible husband who i simply couldn't live without (he was gone one night last week and i thought i was going to die!) and friends and family who make my life full. but, for now, i wake up at 700 every morning because promise needs to eat at 730. i plan my day around when she eats and sleeps. i plan my evenings around when she goes to bed. i plan my trips to the grocery store between her feedings. i think of things to do with her when she's awake to help her learn and develop. i read books and blogs about babies and parenting. i look forward to snuggling with her and rocking her. in essence, i am a mom.
shannon and i used to worry that as our older cousins started getting married, they would change and become these lame old people. then when they all started having kids we worried more. some of them changed drastically with these life events - others not so much. i'm still me, but now, for better or worse, i am a wife and a mother. and you know what? i love it! every minute of it! i love it slightly less at the minutes that fall between midnight and say 6am, but i still love it.
so that is what i will mostly write about - life with my wonderful, beautiful, happy 2 month old. these posts will be memories for her. and i'll post pictures for you. because really, that's what you are here for, right?
Yayyyyyyyyyyy! Good girl!
